Western Cuyahoga
Audubon is now offering a chapter-only membership – "Friends of Western Cuyahoga
Audubon." This is a membership in the Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society only.
You can still be a member of National Audubon
Society with Western Cuyahoga Audubon as your local chapter affiliation, or you
can be a member of Western Cuyahoga Audubon only… or both! Confusing? Here’s how
it works.
The
National Audubon Society has recently changed its relationship with local
chapters. This has prompted many chapters to initiate chapter-only memberships.
We are calling our chapter-only members "Friends of Western Cuyahoga Audubon."
The main advantages of this kind of membership are that all your dues will stay
local, and that Western Cuyahoga Audubon will not share your name and contact
information with other organizations if you so desire. Western Cuyahoga Audubon
Society will use your dues in its education, conservation, and recreation
programs.
Audubon
membership is flexible, and you need not change your current membership if you
do not want to. Here are the options that are now available to you.
Friends
of Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society (Option 1)

If you
sign up to be a "Friend" only, you will receive our newsletter the
“Feathered Flyer”, a nametag, and welcome to attend our programs and field
trips. Other benefits are available at different rates. Please see membership
form.
With the
"Friends" membership, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that all
your dues go to Western Cuyahoga Audubon for use in our local programs. If you
mainly want to support Audubon’s work in Northeast Ohio, this is the way to go!
National
Audubon Members with Western Cuyahoga Audubon as your local chapter affiliation
(Option 2)

When you join the National Audubon Society you are
enrolled in Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society as your local chapter. You receive
the benefits of being a National Audubon member, such as receiving Audubon
magazine and welcome to attend our monthly meetings and field trips.

You
can, of course, sign up for both! If you are currently a National Audubon
Society member and you want to continue to support their nationwide programs,
but you also want to support Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society in a more
substantial way, you can add a "Friends" membership! This way
you get the Audubon Magazine, the Feathered Flyer and the knowledge that your "Friends"
dues are going to work in your community.
The
new "Friends" membership is another innovative way that Western Cuyahoga Audubon
is addressing the needs of our local community and environment. While it will
not be right for everyone, we believe that many will find it an exciting new
opportunity for the Northeast Ohio community to support conservation, environmental education, and
