Field Trip September 25, 2011

Lake Erie Nature and Science Center and Huntington Reservation

Leaders: Christine Barnett (LENSC) and Bill Deininger (WCAS)

The September field trip began at Lake Erie Nature and Science Center with a program by Christine Barnett featuring a resident Great Horned Owl and Red-tailed Hawk.  Tom Romito pointed out field marks. Next was a lake watch at Huntington Beach, with a fly-by adult Bald Eagle.  In the water were Bonaparte’s Gulls, Herring Gulls and Ring-billed Gulls plus a few Mallards. A trip to the Huntington sledding hill produced a flock of migrating warblers.
