Field Trip to Perkins Beach, Edgewater Marina,
Wendy Park and Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve
Saturday, October 25, 2014
Leader: Mary Anne Romito
Species for the day: 21
The Perkins Beach overlook at Edgewater Park had an assortment of
waterfowl, notably including a Black Tern, three Surf Scoters, 1,000
Bonaparte's Gulls and 300 Horned Grebes.
Twenty-one birders assembled there to enjoy birding on a mild
fall day. The group
moved on to the Edgewater Marina area and Wendy Park, adding just a
couple of species to the count.
The field trip ended at Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve
(Dike 14) where birders found a Northern Saw-whet Owl.
Thanks Mary Anne Romito for sending the results to eBird.
