Second Saturday Bird Walk, July 11, 2015
Leaders: Bill Deininger, Ken Gober, Dave Graskemper
24 Birders, 42 Species
An Eastern Wood Pewee on the nest, large families of Wood Ducks,
eight Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and a begging juvenile Red-tailed
Hawk were some of the highlights of the July Second Saturday Bird
Walk on the trails around the Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River
Nature Center. A park
staffer was clearing away branches put in place by a beaver to stop
water flowing out of one of the ponds; the beaver is diligent and
persistent in this effort.
