Christmas Bird Count

Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is part of a three-week, nationwide effort to monitor trends in bird populations. The official name of our CBC is the Lakewood Christmas Bird Count.

We cover a fifteen-mile diameter circle centered at West 214th St & Center Ridge Road in Fairview Park.

If you are new and would like to participate, wonderful!  Nancy can place you in your own area or have you join a group already going out.  If you participated in the past please let Nancy know what people you will have in your group and area(s) you normally hit.  Below are a couple of areas WCAS wants to cover more thoroughly so if you want to change areas or you know of someone that might be interested in walking or driving some areas, let Nancy know.

If  you wish to participate in the count, contact Nancy Howell at (216) 231-4600 ext 3225 (work), (440) 891-1710 (home) or e-mail nhowell@cmnh.org.

You may also monitor you own feeders at home if your home is within the count circle (see above). Contact Nancy Howell if you have questions about the count circle.

We are looking for extra help this year to cover areas which are not always covered and to cover areas where we are short handed. Please contact Nancy Howell at (216) 231-4600 ext 3225 (work), (440) 891-1710 (home) or e-mail nhowell@cmnh.org to help out.

We are also looking for people to bring chili, desserts, etc to our dinner. Again, call Nancy.
