A storm the day before our trip blanketed the trail with soft deep snow. Fittingly, we saw a snow bunting just at the end of the woods and the start of the boardwalk over the wetlands. A Cooper's Hawk posed in a tree near the Eastland Road end of the boardwalk, giving everyone a great look. After a stop at Panera, a few dedicated birders crossed Bagley Road to explore the Lake Isaac section of the trail.
